Narrative

Several Centuries ago and advanced civilization destroyed itself horribly in some form of cataclysmic armageddon. Since then 4 pockets of survivors have been crawling their way back from the ashes. Centered in 4 major schools they initially had had amicable relations with each other and a minor form of trade. However, their stocks of technology and ancient machines are beginning to break down and there are no parts to be had. Energy cells are nearing full depletion and those things that held the 4 groups in balances are decaying. This has caused them to turn inward and nearly hostile as they fight to see their school wins out.
The school of Mythology is comprised of gnomes, dragons and faeries, the school of Science is comprised of mad scientists, evil geniuses and inventors, the school of belief is comprised of priests, believers and bishops and the school of thought is comprised of thinkers, philosophers and gurus.
At the height of the ancient civilization The Exordium floated high above the world's surface a testimony to the technological wonders they had achieved. During the chaos and madness it vanished and it descended into mythic status. It was believed that it had been destroyed or that it had sailed off to never return when news arrived of its fate. A band of scouts comprised of one each of the four schools had been forced to work together to survive after their respective bands were attacked by mutants, cyber ninjas, pirates and manic mushrooms. Each only barely made it back alive to their respective homes and brought with them a tale of a strange cryptex like island at World's Edge.
Each had managed to bring something back with them and the elders of each village quickly knew that this was the wreck of the Exordium. You represent your school in a race to get to the command center of the Exordium and bring back power cores and other technology. The first one back elevates their school to such a level that the other schools fold and become vassals or are otherwise eliminated. Skill and cunning will be your allies as you face ninjas, pirates, mutated things that go bump in the night and the other players.
